HISTORY

Background

Textile Network, Inc. was started in 1990 by Roxann Weidemaier and Pam Resendez. Their combined experience in the industry packed a powerful punch. Roxann having a degree in textiles from Colorado State University and background in sales, and Pam, a prolific background in raw materials manufacturing and purchasing. With a goal to serve the outdoor industry and manufacturers with U.S. military contracts, they based their startup on the premise of customer experience and inclusive R&D for their customers. Their combination formed a strong backbone for a Women-Owned Small Business.

The Beginning

In the 1990’s Boulder County was known as the heart of the outdoor industry, from backpacks and gear, to world-class athletes and outdoor enthusiasts.  Textile Network sourced raw materials for webbing, Velcro®, zippers, fabrics, buckles and snaps – everything you’d find in a backpack – and sold these materials to manufacturers in Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Utah and Kansas.

Early Growth

Within five years Textile Network had outgrown their first location and they began the search for a new site to continue serving their rapidly growing customer base. In 1995, Roxann and Pam purchased and restored Old Town Lafayette’s original mercantile store, which was built in 1890. It was a labor of love to refurbish the structure without changing its historical essence. This historic building became the office and warehouse for Textile Network.
